This pattern features a prominent cubist or block geometric motif across its surface, giving it a sparkling and elegant appearance. It is a pedestal-style stand, meaning the round cake plate sits atop a sturdy, decorative base or stem. The edges of the stand often have a scalloped or diamond-cut detail, enhancing its visual appeal. Many Fostoria American cake stands, including the one pictured, include a central indentation or “rum well” on the cake plate. This feature was originally designed to hold liquids or sauces to complement desserts.
